It's not so bad.
Exit to Talus Chute from Camp Rankor with my SoS rit in NM. Get the first group with random boss, then trigger the popups down the path. Eventually you can take on the avicara carefully to clear the path to the asures+boss down the path ahead past the rez shrine.
Got 4 remains already in two runs. I've seen worse weeks.

There are Azure Shadows that can be easily farmed by R/Rit spirit spammer or most anything else right outside Witman's Folly. Just go east. Avoid the grawl. Avoid the boss groups. Two or three Azure remains per run.
Dreadnaught's Drift is easy to reach starting from the Deldrimor War Camp in Grenth's Footprint. Just go around to the exit to the Snake Dance. Dance north on up to Dreadnaught's Drift. It's not very far.
There are two areas in there connected by a narrow path. Nicholas is in the one on the right down in the South end. Went up with H&H, modified Sabway with Curses necro replaced by Gwen. Four level 20 hench. Me Ranger with pet build.
Same build used for vanquishing Magus Stones in Hard Mode repeatedly. Everything in the Snake and in the Drift just fell over in heaps and clumps! That Gwen is awesome!
Ah, but I remember the days of old when Dreadnaught's Drift filled me with terror.

I'm assuming this run is NM?

Gwen is awesome now? Wow show me the build that might accomplish that
The best place to farm the items is like so many said before rankor, not too sure about the boss right behind the birds, it might be easier to just zone and do the first group + boss and the popups over and over again.

Isn't there huge spawn just outside Thunderhead Keep? It even includes boss, iirc.

most people like to use SoS to solo farm, and since they spawn all around you and there is about 12 of them, you tend to just die

I have been using Gwen since she was available. I didn't even need to adjust her build when they updated the Mesmer skills. She provides interrupts, damage, and hex removal for me. Her energy isn't an issue as she maintains it herself. Is it the 'best'? Don't know, and don't care. It works extremely well for how I play, so I'm happy to leave it as is.
[Tease][Clumsiness][Wandering Eye][Power Return][Power Drain][Frustration][Inspired Hex][Resurrection Chant]
I give her 15 Illusion (12+1+2), 11 Inspiration (10+1), and 9 Fast Casting (8+1) with the leftover 2 points into Healing Prayers.

16 Domination Magic
10 Fast Casting
10 Inspiration Magic
Panic, Cry of Frustration, Power Drain, Leech Signet, Power Return, Optional, Optional, Res Chant
For optional, I usually use some combo of Overload, Guilt, Shame, or Mistrust and lock her on whatever target I most want shut down. But there are other useful possibilities depending on circumstances. Gwen totally rocks and I take her with me almost everywhere I go. And when I don't, I usually miss her. :-)

I tried this build on Norgu/Gwen (on one char I use gwen for conditions spreading so I used Norgu) these last days and it seems to work great. For the moment I've noticed that almost everything gets inturrupted (my pain inverter gets almost useless caus there's no pain to invert!), for the rest I have to look better...thanks for sharing!

An anon posted on GWiki that he's in Varajar Fells (outside Raven's Point) collecting 3 Modniir Manes. Unfortunately I'm at work and can't verify.
